Things I hope I never forget.

My Baby, originally uploaded by Michelle.Dan.

In 10 years Aiden will be Nicole's age now.

Will we remember?

I hope we are able to call on these memories just by saying,

Remember when Aiden was 4?

I hope so, because it's days like today that make my life so freaking fun.

Aiden and I went to the mall, he trailed behind SO SLOW.... I finally asked him WHY... Why the slowness?
That face looked at me in total seriousness and told me that , "he did not want to step on a crack, and break my back"...

The other day he came with us to Nicole's cast removal appt. At some point she flinched when the Dr. examined her hand.

Aiden came alive.

He had been watching an episode of Scooby Doo on Nicole's I-pod, When he saw Nicole wince, he ripped out his earphones and charged the Dr. yelling "don't you hurt my sister".. His eyes filled with tears, and his bottom lip came out , but he kept yelling in his best man voice to NOT HURT HIS SISTER..

Coley and I thought his reaction was so sweet, we teared up.

He is such a good boy.

A Cure for the Grouchy.

The Grouchy..

Yesterday I did not want to be in my own skin.

I was THISCLOSE to losing my temper, for no reason.

The whole day rage boiled just underneath my skin.

The Not So Grouchy

It was 95 degrees out for the first time since maybe August and it felt so NICE.

Nicole's cast was removed. Hand was very stinky and bone not healed all the way.. But it's off!

Emily and Aiden spent over an hour using the slip and slide.

All that running, laughing and slipping was the cure for the Cranky..

What? Who are you looking at?

Dear Internet,

I am a freaking grouch today. I can not help it.

I know I'm doing it and yet the RAGE remains.

Please let me find my zen and be able to have a happy afternoon.

Thanks,

Michelle

Spring has Sprung..

We are here.

The THAW has begun.

We have real live spring flowers and

the trees are getting fuzzy at the edges.

It's time for us to come out of hibernation.

I am a slacking.. But for a good cause.

I finally finished my mom's Birthday Video. We presented it to her Sunday and she just loved it.

I am back to counting points and listening to Jillian tell me about FEAR LEAVING MY BODY.

I'm hoping to get a few minutes to do an update on everyone.

Tomorrow is looking good.

New Sheriff in town..

Aiden and Emily had just got out of the bath and were watching a cartoon while I ran back an forth getting clothes and brushes. They looked so sweet huddled together for warmth under both towels and blankets. Luckily for them the lighting was right, the camera was within reach and while they didn't freeze, those lips may have been slightly blue before I got everyone changed into warm clothes.

* ran a Fade with Cross Process action to grab the sunlight and boost the color.

Now, about that camera..

This is the new member to our family..

It is a Canon PowerShotSX.

This camera takes excellent video and has so far been VERY good to me. It's easy to use and there are enough options for lighting and shutter speed to keep me busy for quite awhile.

Aiden's now famous Bawintime song was captured using the movie function..

Be My Bal-win-time.. from Michelle Weldon on Vimeo.

Since we purchased it 2 weeks ago, we have taken over 300 pictures. 250 of them were of the DOG as I tried to find the right speed and ISO for the natural light coming in the window.

Also my new personal favorite of Dan and Nicole..

Thank God it's February..

Note to 2009: January did not impress me.

I'm hoping you are planning to make it up to me in February.

January:

Aiden broke his elbow when he did not clear the jump on the obstacle course him and Emily constructed. We had it X-rayd 3 times before we saw the orthopedist. Aiden does not sit still for any camera, including the 2 million dollar X-ray machine. The ortho said his best guess was the Aiden fractured the growth plate in his elbow and it was not showing up on the X-ray. His arm was broken for a week before it was casted, it gave me an ulcer to watch him act as if he had no arm. He was in pain if he moved it, so he just pretended his arm had been cut off. Seriously, who does that?

The same day that Aiden hurt himself, Sadie the dog fell UP the stairs. She ran up the stairs at 40 miles an hour and slipped. Smashed her dog "knee" on one of the stairs. She wouldn't move, just laid down and refused to get up for a whole day. $100.00 later the vet diagnosed her with a "bad bruise" .

Emily and Aiden then came down with a virus that lasted over a week. Freakishly high temps along with more mucus than I thought humanly possible. When Emily has a fever she is almost guaranteed to have an SVT episode. Normal procedure is to tip her upside down and most of the time it snaps her out of the episode. Well, when your poor child is fighting sinus pressure and you tip her upside down, she will SCREAM in pain as the sinus pressure makes her head explode. Calls to her Cardiologist to make sure heart med's and Motrin will not be a problem, except for some reason it is. We were going to have to go to the ER, when she came out of it on her own.

Fevers were gone, mucus remained. Emily went back to school, but got sent home because of ear pain. We went to the Dr.'s to check for Ear infections. Good news, she didn't have ear infection. Bad News she had walking Pneumonia. Aiden was "checked" and found to not have anything but a bad cold, but honestly he was being such a twerp during the exam he could have had TB and she would have patted him on the head and sent him on his way. 3 days later we were back and he did in fact have an ear infection.

My co-pays are what's keeping the NH Health Care system from shutting down.

When the 2 week PLAUGE decended on our home the most annoying side effect was the LACK OF SLEEP. No sleep, broken sleep and 4 people in a queen size bed sleep. Everyone was tired and cranky and a little sick of each other's company. The weekly snowstorms that have hit us for the last month have not helped our cabin fever either.

Today is Feb. 1st.

Aiden's cast is off and he is almost done his antibiotics.

Emily just had an episode and came right out of it.

Nicole had escaped all illness.

Dan thought his ear was infected, but the nice Dr. told him he had a head cold.

I am still sneezing, but no longer want to poke a hole in my head to relieve the pressure.

The dog is back to wrestling with Aiden and fully healed.

Keep it up February... Things are looking good so far.

Send Help.. or Chocolate

For the last week and 1/2  there has been at least one member of my family who was ill.

I was more than a little thrilled that I had managed to excape this strain of the plauge and not infected by my feverish little charges. I was so excited, that I may have mentioned a few hundred times to all who would listen, how GREAT I felt and how LUCKY I was to not be sick.

No fear, "Karma" heard me boasting to the universe about my luck and/or superhuman antibodies because it's biting me in the arse we speak. Not only is my head going to FREAKIN explode from the sinus pressure, but I am about to embark on my 48 hour solo parenting gig as Dan is off to work.

If you would like to help. Please send food or wine. Or I can send you 2 small children. I need the 3rd one, she is older and therefore able to open the wine bottle.

At this moment there are 14: 14 year olds in my basement, they are cheerleaders and in the 8th grade. I'm sure there will be no drama.. RIGHT.. If everyone makes it alive till morning, I'll be shocked.

I'm going to try and sleep. At least till the first wave of crying starts. Maybe they will be busy texting each other and won't gang up on anyone till later.

Lets talk about ME.

Let us all remember this day as the day Michelle thought she was out of a job,but then learned that she wasn't.

Let us all remember that Michelle thinks EVERYTHING is about her, because she is a freaking moron.

There is much to write about.

Illness, broken bones, brushes with unemployment..

But I exhausted myself with needless worry, so I'm off to bed.

Walking Princess P-monia

Emily is sick.

Last week she seemed worse. I thought she was getting better.

I was MISTAKEN.

She has fluid backed up in her ears and walking pneumonia.

Poor Baby.. It's back to the couch we go.
