Worth it’s weight in gold.

Last year our 4 year old desktop bit the dust. It was a sudden and complete blue screen of death.

A blessing in disguise.

After MUCH deliberating with spreadsheets, price comparing and hand ringing..

We bit the bullet and bought a FAST and PRETTY new laptop.

At the time I wasn’t really concerned with the webcam. I could have gone either way.

20 minutes after we started it up we were playing with the webcam.

All of us get into it. We make videos, Skype and TAKE A BILLION PICTURES.

The best part is the surprise.

Sometimes I’ll be looking for a picture and stumble on something totally random and it makes my day.

Where did this baby go?

bbbw

Emily was 4 years old in this picture.  We still called her Baby Girl back then.

Looking at video of those days she was about 60% misunderstood, we were knee deep in speech therapy and preschool. BUT, what a personality.

I remember this day. I had read a blog post stressing the importance of natural light. But the light was fading so I grabbed her and stuck her up on the entertainment center in front of the window. The silly girl gave me 20 different faces, Happy, Sad, Silly and then this. I think this was with my asking for a serious face.

In June of 2010 my external hard drive up and croaked. I lost over 300 gigs of pictures and videos. It was like losing a limb. Slowly we are piecing together pictures of over the years.. I have a Flickr account and an online baby website and between the two I’m hoping to put Humpty Dumpty back together.

Walking Princess P-monia

Emily is sick.

Last week she seemed worse. I thought she was getting better.

I was MISTAKEN.

She has fluid backed up in her ears and walking pneumonia.

Poor Baby.. It's back to the couch we go.

First day of School Photo!

First day of School Photo!, originally uploaded by Michelle.Dan.

Kindergarten is for big kids.

  • Her bus leaves at 7:20 AM and she comes home at 2:30. Today is her 3rd full day of school.
  • Her teacher is very nice and urges all parents to be involved with the school.
  • Emily is ecstatic that she got to do the BIG monkey bars on the playground.
  • She eats HOT LUNCH because they give dessert.
  • Carries her snack in her BARBIE lunch box, her favorite snack so far is "cracker jelly sandwich"..
  • She learned a very damp lesson regarding saving the rest of your juice box in your backpack.
  • She has self assigned homework, practicing her alphabet and numbers at the kitchen table as soon as she comes in the door.

The beginning of school came so fast, now it's over and everyone has a schedule and the days are flying by.

In all of her five years she has never been away from home this long.

I miss her.
