The Many Faces of Coley..

Movies
Below is a collection of pictures we took this week. It's so busy here that sometimes I forget to pick up the camera to capture TODAY.
He's a charmer, this one.
He's 14 years old, avid skateboarder, football player, snowboarder, and now he's a surfer.
Last year he managed to survive a bout with Mono, which turned into Steven-Johnson's disease, then while snowboarding he broke his back and had to live in an brace for 3 months and I'm sure there were more injuries, but he won't mention them because he's afraid it will mean he won't be allowed to be skate, surf, play football or snowboard.
Once upon a time there was a little boy.
Now he is a big kid.
It's a sappy Monday.
Not sure how I missed his last FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL picture. This one here is recent enough, but it doesn't show the full Kurtis effect. He's towers over us all.. (except Dan, but really Dan is a freak show on his own here in the land of the little people)
It is so his year. He is out of the older brother shadow, which has it's pro's and con's, and he's managed to shine under the spotlight. He made the Football team and practices all the time plus fit's school and work in there somewhere.
8th Grade.. Wow..For 8 years she was my only baby.
According to her the first day of school was, OK. At the last minute, Granny decided my little fashionista was not quite decked out enough for the First Day of School, so Granny went to the outlets and Nicole received MANY, MANY stylish items the night before school started. Since everyone at school loved her clothes and new style, she was happy.
She signed up for Student Council, Field Hockey and was looking into soccer.
Such a go-getter. Another child that does not take after her mother.
His name is Skippy. Not Flippy. Emily is Flippy. He is Skippy.. For the record.
He started school this morning.
Promptly at 9:00 he left the safety of his mothers arms and ran wildly to the train table.
I tried to get a just a tiny bit of emotion from him and I got nothing..
I warned his teacher that he had never been away from my loving gaze for longer than an half hour and he would probably freak out and it was OK if she called me. I would come get him, or I could just wait in the parking lot if she wanted, you know, however she wanted to handle it. She told me to go home and that he would be fine ( I think she may have rolled her eyes at me..)
Needless to say my Wittle tiny Baybee totally ditched me, I barely got a kiss when I was dismissed with a wave and he took off.
Afterward I spoke with his teacher who assured me that was no drama after I left and he played well with the others. The best part was he was REALLY excited to see me at pick up, so he was forgiven.
I asked him what he like best about school, he said snack.
According to him they had Cheese/Crackers with apple juice and Chalk.
Kindergarten is for big kids.
The beginning of school came so fast, now it's over and everyone has a schedule and the days are flying by.
In all of her five years she has never been away from home this long.
I miss her.
