Thank God it's February..

Note to 2009: January did not impress me.

I'm hoping you are planning to make it up to me in February.

January:

Aiden broke his elbow when he did not clear the jump on the obstacle course him and Emily constructed. We had it X-rayd 3 times before we saw the orthopedist. Aiden does not sit still for any camera, including the 2 million dollar X-ray machine. The ortho said his best guess was the Aiden fractured the growth plate in his elbow and it was not showing up on the X-ray. His arm was broken for a week before it was casted, it gave me an ulcer to watch him act as if he had no arm. He was in pain if he moved it, so he just pretended his arm had been cut off. Seriously, who does that?

The same day that Aiden hurt himself, Sadie the dog fell UP the stairs. She ran up the stairs at 40 miles an hour and slipped. Smashed her dog "knee" on one of the stairs. She wouldn't move, just laid down and refused to get up for a whole day. $100.00 later the vet diagnosed her with a "bad bruise" .

Emily and Aiden then came down with a virus that lasted over a week. Freakishly high temps along with more mucus than I thought humanly possible. When Emily has a fever she is almost guaranteed to have an SVT episode. Normal procedure is to tip her upside down and most of the time it snaps her out of the episode. Well, when your poor child is fighting sinus pressure and you tip her upside down, she will SCREAM in pain as the sinus pressure makes her head explode. Calls to her Cardiologist to make sure heart med's and Motrin will not be a problem, except for some reason it is. We were going to have to go to the ER, when she came out of it on her own.

Fevers were gone, mucus remained. Emily went back to school, but got sent home because of ear pain. We went to the Dr.'s to check for Ear infections. Good news, she didn't have ear infection. Bad News she had walking Pneumonia. Aiden was "checked" and found to not have anything but a bad cold, but honestly he was being such a twerp during the exam he could have had TB and she would have patted him on the head and sent him on his way. 3 days later we were back and he did in fact have an ear infection.

My co-pays are what's keeping the NH Health Care system from shutting down.

When the 2 week PLAUGE decended on our home the most annoying side effect was the LACK OF SLEEP. No sleep, broken sleep and 4 people in a queen size bed sleep. Everyone was tired and cranky and a little sick of each other's company. The weekly snowstorms that have hit us for the last month have not helped our cabin fever either.

Today is Feb. 1st.

Aiden's cast is off and he is almost done his antibiotics.

Emily just had an episode and came right out of it.

Nicole had escaped all illness.

Dan thought his ear was infected, but the nice Dr. told him he had a head cold.

I am still sneezing, but no longer want to poke a hole in my head to relieve the pressure.

The dog is back to wrestling with Aiden and fully healed.

Keep it up February... Things are looking good so far.
