Day 19

Monday BLAH.

Last night was rough.

Much wine was ingested during Turkey @ the parents house.

The two negatives equaled a positive.

Turkey and wine are supposed to make you sleepy, not wide awake.

Still awake at 12:ish, I was able to watch Emily sleep walk into my room and climb into my bed whispering to herself. She has “night terrors” but appears awake, she is asleep but walks down the ladder of her bunk bed to my room.  She climbs into my bed and hangs on to me for dear life and I know she is scared and STILL DREAMING. I whisper in her ear about how happy I am and my birthday is coming up and it’s going to be GREAT. She responds and while still not fully awake, she becomes focused on what I’m saying and no longer whatever dream she was having.

It’s a little creepy.

But she’s such a good girl, it just breaks my hear when she’s scared. I hope she grows out of it soon.

Dog-girl

0410001102a

She’s so creative! Takes all these pictures with her cell phone. She drives me LOCO most of the times, but I suppose that is a age/genetic condition as opposed to a serious personality disorder.

I love this picture. Adorable.

We had turkey dinner at my mommy’s house tonight and DUDE, I HAD ME SOME WINE.

I figured it best it I post the adorable picture and keep moving, rather than delve into any serious subject matter.

POLITICS ANYONE?

PARENTING ADVICE?

Ha!. NOW those aren’t HOT BUTTON issues now are they..

I spent an hour last night creating my new banner with JUST THE RIGHT amount of sepia/black&white contrast. I upload it and thought it looked GREAT. Today. Not so much. Washed out? too white? It’s not just Firefox either, Mac users are seeing the same thing.  Will have to add color or something tomorrow.

That is all for this evening..

I will be sure to post something RIVITING tomorrow.

Happy SUNDAY.

I am not a grownup.

Friday morning I woke up to snow.

Real snow. In April.

 0416000635

It sucks the life out of me. Under that snow was GREEN GRASS.

I was SOOO ready for spring. An we were IN IT. Temps had reached the 80’s one time and had been consistently in the 70’s for the last few weeks.

The trees have that fuzzy look they get right before leaves appear. Kids are wearing spring coats and SANDALS. It’s that funky “chilly in the morning, sweaty in the afternoon” weather.

Now this.

I’m cranky & COLD.

Seasonal depression is alive and well hanging out in my living room.

Day 6: Good calorie day.

We went to a birthday party and I REFUSED a cupcake. I know, it’s UNAMERICAN! Next thing you know I’ll be kicking puppies.

It was a boring crappy day and I would have probably felt 10000x better if I had got off my ass and did some exercise, but see above:  DEPRESSION because of the FREAKING snow.

My body thinks its winter and should be hibernating.

But I watched ANNIE from 1984!

So there is hope that the “SUN WILL COME OUT TOMORROW! TOMORROW!

Danielle made Aiden a Spiderman cake;

Aiden grocery shops with me every week. Every week he asks if he can have these cheese balls. Every week I say no. Today he got them as a present from Coley.

For the first part of the evening I had the camera on the wrong setting. Whoops. If you look close, Aiedn has 2 hands on that spoon of frosting.

Aiden with Daddy. He calls him “the Dadster”. (pay no attention to the primer on the walls, painting THIS WEEK, I hope).

He blew out his candles, after he requested that we sing Happy Birthday and include his name as Prince Aiden. *** Not princess, PRINCE. ??

And just like that he was 5. Birthday is done. :(

He can GRATE on my nerves like nobody’s business..  But mostly, I’d like to eat this boy for lunch.

Day 20000: no real workout, but I ran around all freaking day.

Housecleaning, shopping then cooking and cleaning up the huge mess I made.

I had CAKE. I had a piece of BBQ chicken pizza, but mostly stuck with veggie and hummus for snack.

NOT BAD for a family party.

Happy 26th Anniversary!

Day 15 of 30 posts in 30 days is all about the parents.

Today is their 26th Anniversary. Wow, I was at their wedding and I can’t possibly be that old.

They are at a wonderful restaurant in Portsmouth, NH  and a few minutes ago I got this picture.

Proof they are having a good time. EVEN AFTER ALL THESE YEARS.

Day 5? of Keep Moving: Got a lot of exercise today. No Jillian, but feel like I got a good workout for most of the day. Did great on calorie count, averaging about 1000 to 1200 a day, which according to the online calculator, is what I should average if trying to achieve weight loss.

It’s Birthday Day, it’s birthday Day.

My photo program sorts pictures by date and today is April 14,2010.

The following 5 photos are snapshots all taken on April 14th for the past five years.

Let us take a digital walk back in time to April 14, 2005.

He was just a wittle baby: 8 pounds 7oz’s. Smaller than both his sisters. Just a peanut.

 DSCN1404_0061

Then he growed. Age 1 he looked HUGE. What happened to that tiny baby?

Papa's Camera 101

When he turned two years old I thought he was such a big kid. But still I could carry him.April 100

At age 3 he started to turn into a real boychild, no baby left. My little man. April Part 2 019

But 4 years old? That one killed me. He started to act and look like a rough and tough MANCHILD. No baby and barely any boy. He spoke with a deep voice and takes sports WAY too seriously. Supa

Today he turns 5. He woke up today and was shocked that he had turned 5 during the night. He was happy to report that it didn’t even hurt. ( I think he thought he was going to “turn into 5” not “turn 5. ? 100414-203325

i just love him.

Day Whatever: Even with all the birthday CRAZY I managed to Shred and stay mostly on track. There was that one piece of cake. I had budgeted calories for it, but it wasn’t that good.  Emily and Aiden helped me thru the Shred. That girl has some pipes on her. She can do 4 pushups in a row. I was impressed. Aiden was channeling his inner Jillian Michaels yelping at me to “chop, chop” and counting out random numbers. “Only 23 more!” They do make a workout FUN or something..

Twas the night before Aiden...

5 years ago I spent my last night being pregnant. Ever.

Emily just over a year old when we knew Aiden was on his way.

My body did pregnancy easily. No morning sickness or nausea.

The end was always uncomfortable. It must be for everyone.

I had these huge babies and they didn’t really fit at the end, so the belly would grow up and out.

I think I knew it was our last baby, but I didn’t stop and have a conscious thought that I would never be pregnant again, and this was my last night.

My baby turns 5 tomorrow.  This was our last picture together 5 years ago.

His last day of being four years old. My baby.

Crazy Day

I’m getting old, or at least I feel like it today.

Today was the kind of day where I spent the day trying to catch up.

I physically was not well.

When I spend the day with my focus split between what I should be doing and how I feel, only bad things can happen.

I accomplished quite a bit and I will be honest, it sucked.

I worked out with Jillian and sat patiently for someone to bestow the medal I clearly earned for working out in my condition. Oddly, nobody showed up.

Tomorrow I will do better, tomorrow is Aiden’s last day of being four years old.

Angel Baby

I snapped a picture of Aiden last year, just as he got out of the bathtub wrapped in his bunny towel.  The lighting was just right and he looked RIGHT at the camera. I sharpened and boosted the color with Photoshop. He looks like an ANGEL. (a little creepy if you stare at the eyes too long, but still an angel).

All my attempts to recreate this picture have failed. He barely fits in this towel anymore and has a hard time looking at the camera lens for longer than .13 seconds. I did my best. I feel that I succeeded at making him look sweet and innocent. That alone is worth the price of Photoshop.

Day Three: Still trucking..

Managed my workout around a headache. THANK YOU MOTHER NATURE.

I’m doing great with my Flaxseed Shakes and eating something for dinner.

Kicked ass as HOUSE WIFE OF THE YEAR today.

Yeah, Go ME.

Saturday night live..

This is my life.

Watching Shrek 3 piled into bed with Aiden and Emily, I’m in the middle.

Emily whispers in my ear how much she loves me. (? she’s 6, and got to stay up late.)

Aiden smoothes down my hair & leans in to give me a smooch, but instead asks me to “smell his teeth”

They won’t be little for long.  I try and burn these moments into my brain.

Emily whispers in my ear that she sure would like some ice cream, 2 hours after bedtime.

Aiden starts yelling my name, Mommy! I look over just in time to see his foot as it CRUNCHES into my nose. Whoops, he says. I REALLY wanted you to smell my feet.

Back to the movie for 16 minutes. Then commercial. We snuggle for 2 more minutes.

Emily whispers louder (so Aiden can hear) that I told her she could have ICE CREAM.

Aiden tries to sit up, because HE wants ICE CREAM and drives his elbow into my collarbone.

Someday when I recall this memory, they will be older and no longer interested in snuggling with their Mommy. I’ll remember kissing little kid heads and holding hands.

I may edit out the part where I yelled at both of them to go to sleep, kicked them out of my bed and watched the rest of the movie by myself.

Day 2 of “Get my Ass Moving” went well.

I did the Shred this morning and I was SO SORE from yesterday, but got thru it. I’m hoping by tomorrow I’ll be able to walk without cringing.
