Friday Night Headache

So much for date night.
It’s one of those headache’s that do not let up.
Just achy in the back of my head all freaking day.
Carpet is installed. Looks beautiful. Fresh and clean.

So much for date night.
It’s one of those headache’s that do not let up.
Just achy in the back of my head all freaking day.
Carpet is installed. Looks beautiful. Fresh and clean.
Tomorrow I will post pictures!
It’s been a long day.
Carpet has been selected and installation will take place tomorrow. There was much drama followed by satisfaction with our purchase.
We attended a wake tonight. It was sad seeing children that will now grow up without a father. It’s hard not think of how it could be you in that position. Your children and your husband.
My babies are currently up WAY past their bedtime because I was so sappy and I love the extra snuggle time when they know they should be in bed, and are willing to sit quietly and let you hug and squeeze them as much as you want.
We are all sitting on the couch switching back and forth between:
and
There was no time for Jillian or running today.
Tomorrow there will have to be double time!.
Emily drew this picture of our house a few weeks ago. When questioned about the two lumps at the bottom, she quickly pointed out that it was us. HER PAWENTS!
We had a plumbing issue a few weeks ago and are now in the process of replacing the carpet in the basement. Tomorrow we hope to have 2 different quotes to compare. Kind of a pain in the ass.
On a roll with the home improvement. The living room color didn’t come out as planned, so it’s back to the drawing board. Today I moved the furniture around in the dining room. It feels like a new room. Sometimes it’s the little things.
Finishing the borders in the kitchen and dining room, picking out color for living room and the hallway.
Then I’m taking the rest of the summer off.
Home improvement is exhausting.

OMIGOD : DAY 8
So. I’m loving Edy’s 1/2 Fat Peanut Butter Ice Cream. It’s 140 Calories for 1/2 cup.
So. I made a deal with myself.
If there will be evening ice-cream, then there will be an extra mile on the treadmill.
So. Tonight there was an extra mile on the treadmill.
This morning I ran/walked for 1.5 miles, with my 2 minutes running then 2 minutes walking. Then did level one of the 30 Day Shred.
I’m so freaking tired.
My goodness this child is growing up so fast.
The word that best describes her is GANGELY. All arms and legs. She is 6 ALMOST 7.
Those are her big kid teeth, under all the OREO crumbs. My kid is Dentally ADVANCED.
She is about to complete first grade and is moving to the big kid school for 2nd-4th graders.
She makes us all laugh with her deadpan delivery and eye rolling replies. Who are you? is a phrase she hears frequently. She is all of us and yet so HER. She is so sassy, funny and weird that you feel an introduction may be necessary. Hi, I’m the lady who birthed you. When did you get so mature? and also, could you please stop growing up?
She is our fancy girl.
I like to squeeze her and call her my baby, just so she can roll her eyes at me and laugh.
“Yeah Mom. I’m almost as tall as you, I’m not a baby anymore”.

I ran/walked my way thru 1.5 miles in 25 minutes. I walk for 2 minutes/then run for 2. Then I took a nap for 20 minutes. Woke up and did the Shred with Jillian Michaels.
I’m an exercising NINJA.
Shrek is like part of our family.
I remember taking Nicole to the first movie, she was so young. Halfway thru the movie the projector broke, we ran to the bathroom and got back JUST in time as they fixed it. She was so excited that they had paused the movie for HER. There was no point in trying to explain.
Shrek 2 Nicole and I saw in California while on vacation to see Dan’s parents. It was so funny. Everyone in the theater was laughing and Nicole was so HAPPY!
These movies are our go to movies on DVD. Kids getting on your nerves? Nothing on TV? Sick Kids? Just put in Shrek and everyone would be captivated. Adults included. All the kids loved Shrek, Donkey and Puss IN BOOTS. We quote the movies to each other, Aiden’s favorite is “We can stay up late, swapping manly stories, and in the morning, I'm making waffles!
Today we saw Shrek Forever After.. It’s the last of the movies. It was good and when it’s released on DVD it will most likely become a family favorite.
I get so nostalgic.
It may be the last of the movies, but Shrek will still be part of the family.

So. Mother Nature is out to get me.
But I have managed to do the Shred for the last 6 days and it’s keeping me motivated!
We got a treadmill and I’m LOVING it. I can zone out and walk/run for an hour.
Yeah! Go ME.
Today we cleaned the basement.
Over the last 14 years Dan and I have amassed quite the collection of memories. We hate to part with out memories and so it goes in a box, in the basement. FOR POSTERITY. Memories, old clothes, shoes & every piece of school work that has ever been completed, went into a box into the basement.
There were boxes we had not opened since they were packed 9 years ago. We just moved them from place to place. We opened a few of those. THEY HAD JUNK MAIL IN THEM. We found change we had been collecting that had been packed away. ?
Today we cleaned it all out. There was no room. Memories had to be sorted and it was time to say goodbye to a few things.
Maternity clothes. Crib. Bassinet. Toddler Beds.
There will be no more babies. *very sad face* that decision has been made for over 2 years, but it was so FINAL.
An entire storage bin full of Nicole’s 3 grade papers.
Bags and Bags of stuff. Just stuff we have horded over the years, FINALLY WE PURGED.
A pact has been made.
We will keep it neat. Memories will be PHOTOGRAPHED and not kept physically.
If we don’t need it, donate or recycle it.
Almost didn’t make it to post tonight. I’m exhausted. We received our new treadmill tonight so I made it my bitch and ran a couple miles, OK so NO I DID NOT. But, I did 30 minutes of Jillian and managed a mile and half walk.
YEAH. GO ME!
I submit a photo essay in lieu of any real content:
Nicole: working @ the window, searching for the best lighting.
Nicole and Me: Mother and Daughter webcam antics!
The Sisters Three: Danielle, Casey in the middle and Me on the end. @ Foxwoods Casino, prior to Casey LOSING ALL HER MONEY.
Sadie the Dog and Mittens the Cat: The cat HATED the dog for the first year.
My child. My offspring. He’s “special”.
Graduation from Pre-school is a rite of passage BARLEY observed by most children.
When Aiden learned of his upcoming graduation, he zeroed in on an acceptable gift and proceeded to remind everyone that his GRADUATION was coming up. He did a countdown to gift day, or GRADUATION whatever.
The Ben 10 Video game. Casey came thru with not THE game, but A game.
He was able to return it for the correct game so his head did not explode. Which, I’m glad. I like him.
The last of the tribe to be headed off to full time school. The end of an era.
I’m happy for him and I know I’ll miss him next year, but he is so ready.
He’s such a good boy.

We were on the 5 year plan.
Be my man for 5 years and if we both live to tell about it, then MIGOD LET’S GET HITCHED.
He is the best thing that has ever happened to me.
He has taught me patience, dedication and how to see love in the details.
He is the ying to my yang. We are so different and so alike.
We are in this together and I just love him.
Happy Anniversary Sweetie!
